Report on the Computer and Humanist Education Project in Chad

Project Overview:

The project provided computer skills training and foster humanistic values and resources among 30 adults and 20 children in Chad. It has successfully empowered participants with digital literacy and promoted ethical values essential for their personal and professional growth in the modern world.

Project Duration:

The project spanned over a period of six Days From march 11th to March 16th 2024

Project Objectives:

1.To impart basic and intermediate computer skills to participants.

2.To instill humanistic values such as empathy, respect, and cooperation.

3.To enhance participants' confidence in utilizing digital tools for personal and professional development.

Implementation Strategy:

1.Curriculum Development: A comprehensive curriculum was developed, incorporating both technical computer training modules and humanistic education components.

2.Training Sessions: Six days training sessions were conducted, focusing on practical exercises and interactive discussions to engage participants effectively.

3.Resource Provision: Necessary resources including computers, software, and educational materials were provided.

4.Feedback and Evaluation: Regular feedback sessions and assessments were conducted for the six days to gauge participants' progress and refine the teaching approach.

Achievements:

1.Computer Skills Acquisition: All participants demonstrated significant improvement in their computer skills, ranging from basic operations to more advanced tasks such as word processing, internet browsing, and email communication.

2.Humanistic Values Integration: Through discussions, role-plays, and real-life examples, participants gained a deeper understanding of humanistic values and demonstrated enhanced empathy, respect, and cooperation in their interactions.

3.Empowerment: Participants reported increased confidence in utilizing digital tools for various purposes, including job searches, online communication, and educational pursuits.

Challenges:

1.Infrastructure Limitations: Limited access to electricity and internet connectivity posed challenges in conducting practical training sessions and accessing online resources.

2.Language Barrier: Language differences necessitated the use of interpreters, which sometimes hindered effective communication and slowed down the training process.

3.Socioeconomic Constraints: Some participants faced economic hardships, making it difficult for them to fully engage in the training due to competing priorities.

Recommendations for Future Initiatives:

1.Infrastructure Improvement: Invest in infrastructure development to ensure reliable electricity and internet connectivity for uninterrupted training sessions.

2.Language Localization: Develop educational materials in local languages to overcome language barriers and enhance understanding.

3.Sustainable Support: Establish long-term support mechanisms to assist participants in applying their newly acquired skills and values in real-life situations.

Conclusion:

The Teaching Computer Skills and Humanism project successfully achieved its objectives of imparting computer skills and fostering humanistic values among participants in Chad.

Despite challenges, the project made a positive impact on the lives of adults and children, empowering them to navigate the digital world with confidence and integrity. Moving forward, sustained efforts and investments are necessary to continue empowering individuals and communities in Chad through similar initiatives.
