Atheism United on Facebook is helping HGC/HuMAN support humanism in Africa and India

HGC/HuMAN has a fantastic new partnership with Atheism United, the largest public Facebook group for atheists.

Atheism United raised almost $2,000 in May 2023 - these funds were donated to HGC/HuMAN for humanists in need in Africa and India.

Atheism United donated $1,000 to set up Atheism United Library at Apna School, in Bihar state, India. (Photos below) The library includes books on atheism written by well-known Indian, European, and US atheist writers.

Atheism United also donated nearly $700 to support Atheism United Grocery Store at the Minna Safe House in Niger state, Nigeria. (Photos below) The grocery store is an entrepreneurial project aimed at supporting the eight atheists-in-residence at the safe house, who have moved there for security reasons. The Atheism United money was spent buying a freezer/refrigerator and supplies.

Atheism United additionally contributed $250 to the ShelterMi Safe House & Orphanage in Mpigi, Uganda - funds will help its community garden buy seeds, seedlings, organic fertilizers and tools. (Photo below) The garden provides food and income to the 25-member ShelterMi staff and residents.
